G8 Dementia Summit

Department of Health

Identity was approached by Cottimore Design, on behalf of the Department of Health. Identity were hired to support their Events Team in the provision of a variety of different components: to comprise a conference stage set design and build, audio visual planning, installation and management as well as signage and branding for the G8 Dementia Summit, which was to be jointly chaired by the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Health. The venue for the Summit was Lancaster House in Londo,n and the event was attended by G8 Ministers, researchers, pharmaceutical companies and charities.

Lancaster House, London

With a deadline of less than a month, Identity produced detailed designs and plans for the dressing of the exterior of the venue, stage sets and plenary layout. In addition, we also arranged full simultaneous translation services and live broadcasting of the conference online and by satellite transmission.

Due to the prestigious nature of Lancaster House, as a venue for internationally attended conferences, we had limited time available for the event build - in fact, there was an event finishing only the evening before the Dementia Summit was due to commence. Therefore Identity's build and installation had to take place entirely overnight and meant we had to work closely and efficiently with sub contractors to ensure everything ran smoothly and on time.

The project was handed over to the client on schedule and our staff successfully managed the event production on the day, to wide acclaim from the event's organisers.

High Profile, High Security Event

The event was very high profile, attended by the Prime Minister and broadcast on national and international news TV programmes.

The event was an enormous success and concluded with the publication of a declaration and communique setting out the agreements, reached at the Summit.
